Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Under the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Farmers Program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture helps producers of agricultural commodities adjust to competition from imports by providing them technical assistance, cash payments and opportunities for job retraining. Certain fisherman and aquaculture producers may also qualify for TAA benefits.
Statutory authority for the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Farmers program expired on December 31, 2007.
Milk Income Loss Contract Extension USDA Farm Service Agency's (FSA) Milk Income Loss Contract Program (MILC) compensates dairy producers when domestic milk prices fall below a specified level. The 2002 Farm Bill authorized MILC through Sept. 30, 2005. The Agricultural Reconciliation Act of 2005 reauthorized the program through Sept. 30, 2007. The extended program period is called MILCX. The program has no set funding level. (MILC-X)
