August 2008 Updated RAPIDS Crosswalk in O*NET OnLine

Finding O*NET-SOC occupations that match other occupational, education, and training codes is made simple through O*NET OnLine's Crosswalk Search feature. Collaboratively with the Office of Apprenticeship, the O*NET project has updated the RAPIDS (Registered Apprenticeship Program Information Data System) to O*NET-SOC crosswalk. The file is available for download from the National Crosswalk Service Center external site.

July 2008 Lay Titles database updated

A variety of users including Computer Information Delivery Systems (CIDS), Public and Private Workforce Investment Systems, Job Search Engines, and several Department of Labor electronic tools, such as Career InfoNet and O*NET OnLine, utilize these alternate occupational titles to improve their keyword search performance. July 2008 New wage data in O*NET OnLine

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has released wage data for 2007. This data is used in OnLine's occupational reports. Visit O*NET OnLine to learn more.

June 2008 O*NET Database updated

May 2008 Updated MOC Crosswalk in O*NET OnLine

Users of other occupational coding systems can find matching O*NET-SOC occupations through O*NET OnLine's Crosswalk Search feature. The crosswalk data for the Military Occupational Classification (MOC) has been updated from the latest release (April 2008) by the Department of Defense. Over 7,500 MOC occupations are linked to related O*NET-SOC occupations to help transitioning military personnel locate appropriate civilian jobs.

April 2008 Browse Job Zones in O*NET OnLine

O*NET OnLine's new "Browse by Job Zone" feature allows users to find O*NET occupations based on the amount of preparation that can lead to succesful job performance. Occupations have been sorted into five Job Zones based on similar levels of vocational preparation. Select one of the five Job Zones to see a listing of occupations with similar levels of education, experience, and training.

April 2008 Other In-Demand occupations in O*NET OnLine

In-Demand occupations that are found across different industries, including high growth industries, have now been added to O*NET OnLine's "Browse by High Growth Industry" feature. These occupations are critical to the economy, are projected to have significant employment opportunities in the future, or are being transformed by technology and innovation.

February 2008 New employment data in O*NET OnLine

October 2007 T2 Search in O*NET OnLine

Visitors to O*NET Online can now use machines, equipment, tools, or software to find In-Demand occupations. They can also learn about related tools, technology, and skills important to the business and education communities.

October 2007 Tools and Technology database updated

The tools and technology (T2) file provides information on machines, equipment, tools, and software that workers may use for optimal functioning in a high performance workplace. With its 2007 update, over 25,000 tools and technologies have now been identified for 327 in-demand occupations.

The O*NET Project welcomes feedback on the T2 database. After reviewing an occupation's current T2 information, you can submit specific suggestions for adding more examples of tools or technology through our T2 feedback process.

September 2007 New data in O*NET OnLine

The data collection program provides for regular updates to the O*NET database. In the eighth of these planned database releases, the new and updated O*NET 12.0 production database is used in O*NET OnLine and available to download from our Developer's Corner.
