Tribal College Education
Equity Grants Program Changes
CSREES staff made a presentation to
the First Americans Land-grant College Organization and Network
(FALCON) group in Las Vegas, NV, December 7, 2005 about the
change to a four-year grant cycle for the FY 2006 Tribal
College Education Equity Grants (TCEG) program. The presentation
highlights the changes needed in each tribal college's proposal.
They are intended to increase capacity development in their
food and agricultural sciences education programs. The presentation
also highlights the need for each institution to begin implementing
stakeholder input in the development of the TCEG program.
The FALCON group is comprised of tribal college
staff working with the land grant programs on their individual
campuses. Several members of this group were involved in
the first discussions to consider changes to the TCEG program.
