Using Pay-for-Performance to Support HIT Efforts in Missouri

Although pay-for-performance (P4P) is not as widely used in Medicaid as in the commercial sector, public officials are increasingly looking for creative ways to align payment strategies to support higher quality care in Medicaid. Missouri, one of seven states participating in CHCS' Pay-for-Performance Purchasing Institute, developed an innovative P4P program that encourages providers to adopt a web-based care plan to improve the efficiency and delivery of chronic care.  more »
