Objective: Staistical analysis of opinion poll among HIV/AIDS healthcare workers on the cost-efficacy Factor of huge finances spent on participating in international AIDS Conferences. Projecrt: HIV/AIDS workers form economically backward & majority rural sector countries like India are facing tremendous difficulty in raising finances to participate in these conferences. Already we are way behind in communication with international scientific community on drug development. Those who manage to spend huge finance on Conference expenditure faces questions about the impact of dazzling events on rural/tribal healthcare. Like how much does this knowledge from internatinal level changes our existing anti HIV therapy? Does the new molecules developed, tried & discussed are easily available to us? What about fatal adverse drug reactions? Does the knowledge from Conference really filter down to grass-root level i.e. patient care? Results: Opinion poll enrolling medical professionals, social activists, non-medical fraternity, students giving equal weightage to cultural, educational, economical & social background. 88% participants were in favour of these conferences & 21% were against. 9% undecided, 3% failed to respond. Conclusion: We should break the silence & pass on this conference knowledge & experience by local level programmes back home (LLP).
