MEDIA ADVISORY: Senators Stevens and Dorgan to Hold Press Conference TODAY on Passage of Do-Not-Call Legislation
 
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Commerce Committee Vice Chairman Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and Senator Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) will hold a press conference Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 2:00pm in the Senate Radio-TV Gallery on Congressional passage of legislation to extend and improve the Do-Not-Call registry. Representatives Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) and Chip Pickering (R-Miss.), the sponsors of House passed Do-Not-Call legislation, are also invited.  This legislation will allow the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to collect fees to maintain the registry and remove the need for consumers to re-register their names on the Do-Not-Call list.
