Experts Corner

Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions: There can be some surprises on the personnel front, particularly when taking control of a U.S. company. Work permits of non-U.S. personnel may become invalidated, for one, jeopardizing the value of the new company. Further, employment contracts and compensation packages may contain some surprises, making it imperative to do deep due diligence on the HR side. Recent presentations to a Montreal chapter audience by legal and tax experts from BCF Law firm and KPMG covered these aspects. Access them below.
