Fire
management programs on the Ozark-St. Francis National
Forests is provided through the Fire Team at the
Supervisor's offices for the Ouachita, Ozark-St.
Francis National Forests. Additionally, the Arkanasas/Oklahoma
Interagency Coordination Center in Hot Springs,
Arkansas directs suppression response and activities
and mobilization of forces in support of Regional
and National emergencies.

The
Arkansas/Oklahoma Interagency Coordination Center serves as the Initial Attack Fire Dispatch Office
for the Ouachita and Ozark-St.Francis National Forests
and coordinates the mobilization of resources to wildland
fires and other national emergencies.

Defensible
Space
What
is Defensible Space? Defensible Space is the area
between a house and an oncoming wildfire where the vegetation
has been modified to reduce the wildfire threat and to
provide an opportunity for firefighters to effectively
defend the house.

INTERAGENCY FIRE CENTER
Located
in Boise, Idaho, NIFC is the nationwide clearinghouse
for information on current wildland fire status
and national situation reports.
