Georgetown Gospel Chapel

Over the past 5 years, thoughtful energy efficiency projects have resulted in thousands of dollars of much needed savings - Savings that contribute to the success and financial well being of Georgetown Gospel Chapel’s benevolent missions. The Chapel saved by conducting a comprehensive upgrade of facilities that included lighting, insulation, heating, windows, and water measures. By establishing a foundation and remaining dedicated to energy efficiency, the Georgetown Gospel Chapel will reap the rewards of energy efficiency for many years to come. Savings (so far) are estimated between $3,000 and $5,000, not to mention the prevention of 60,000 pounds of CO2 each year.

North Oxnard United Methodist Church

1999 Small Business Awards - CongregationsSince 1997, North Oxnard Methodist Church (NOUMC) has been redesigning its facility to use energy and water more efficiently. To date, NOUMC has upgraded or modified more than 60 lighting fixtures and has repaired various leaks in its plumbing system. Another ongoing project is the replacement of older toilets with new efficient 1.6 gallons-per-flush units. So far, NOUMC has reduced electric use by 10,300 kWh per year and water use by more than 350,000 gallons per year. These reductions save NOUMC $2,600 and prevent the release of 12,000 pounds of CO2 every year.
