Yes, soon Quicktake will cover other industries such as textiles and apparel. We also expect QT to spread to other regions of the globe.

What if the answers are inconclusive?

Quicktake is not coordinated market research; it is Europe-wide coordinated counseling. When reviewing a clients' products, market specialists will respond using their “expert opinion” and information developed from a phone call or two to industry contacts. If the survey is inconclusive, targeted for-fee customized market research may be the next step. The Quicktake teams do not guarantee that a best prospect market will emerge from the service.

What are "expert opinion" and "coordinated counseling"?

Commercial Service market specialists are reviewing your product based on their market experience and information gathered from contacts in the industry. This is coordinated counseling, not coordinated market research. However, the Commercial Service does offer customized market research.

CS industry Specialists give their “quick take” on a product’s potential in their respective markets - just as they would in preparing for a counseling session. Clients can and are encouraged to contact individual posts. See http://www.buyusa.gov.

What does the final report include?

The final report includes:

  • An overview drafted by the U.S. Mission to the European Union on product-related European Union concerns.
  • A spreadsheet with survey responses from up to 28 posts across Europe. The spreadsheet includes for each post: contact information, next steps and an expert opinion as to the product’s current and future demand, competition, need for partner, local tastes, and technical requirements.
