Introduction to the policy development process, and links to the Federal Register-the official publication for final rules, proposed rules, notices and supporting documents of agencies and organizations.
The CFR is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. USDA's regulations are found in Title 7 of the CFR. FSA's regulations are in 7 CFR Chapters 7 and 18 and CCC's regulations are at 7 CFR Chapter 14. Two versions of the CFR are available on-line:
1) The annual edition of the CFR as published in hardcover; and
2) The electronic CFR which is kept current from day-to-day, but is not an official legal edition of the CFR.
Published by the Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is an independent Federal agency that preserves our nation's history and defines us as a people by overseeing the management of all Federal records.
