Issues: HIV/AIDS outbreak is the most outstanding challenge facing humanity today. People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs) are numbered around 700,000 in Myanmar. Association for Theological Education in Myanmar (ATEM) tries to educate to the principal level to relay their knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS to their students. Description: ATEM and its 27 member schools which are spread across the Nation have started on the Journey of Hope since 2002, in the hope to stop, control and explain HIV/AIDS. The belief of this journey is the Bible, the gospel of Christ and church traditions will provide adequate frameworks for the church to serve God's people in the HIV/AIDS era. The church is there for the sick, the dying, the dead, the bereaved, the orphaned and widowed, offering care and hope in the gospel of Christ. ATEM support its member schools in term of conducting Training of Trainers and Planning Workshops, Clinical Pastoral Education trainings and workshops, pastors' forum on HIV/AIDS to be more strengthened towards HIV/AIDS works. Lessons learned: ATEM which produces about 1,200 graduates yearly is equipping them through IEC materials such as 15 languages Pamphlets, kits and video, trainings and workshops on HIV/AIDS and in care and counseling, and through Gospel teams to rural areas is helping the church to be healed and to heal communities. In this way, discrimination and stigmatization decrease and people raised in awareness, knowledge and PLHAs have better lives inside communities. Recommendation: ATEM and its member schools are breaking the silence in HIV/AIDS, working to embrace the infected and the affected for quality care, challenging the church to deal with situations like poverty, war, gender inequality, human rights, etc which give rise to HIV/AIDS and building networks to contribute towards this end.
