Special USDA Technology Report
At the Ministerial Conference and Expo on
Agricultural Science and Technology in 2003,
Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman released
a special report titled 21st Century
Agriculture: A Critical Role for Science
and Technology. It showcases a broad
range of conventional and emerging technologies
that can increase agricultural productivity,
enhance the nutrient content of foods, and
offer new capabilities and options in food
and agriculture production and marketing.
As an innovation for future, bio-nanotechnology
may give molecular biologists even greater
opportunities to investigate the physiological
functions of plants and animals, which can
increase the speed and power of disease diagnosis,
according to the
report.
