Food Safety Contacts Directory
The National Integrated Food Safety Initiative (NIFSI) is a competitive grant program administered by CSREES. The initiative seeks to improve the support and coordination of food safety research, education, and extension/outreach at universities throughout the U.S. and its territories. To achieve this goal, CSREES staff have developed a Food Safety Contacts Directory. The directory contains contact information for:
- CSREES staff involved with the NIFSI
- University faculty with program responsibilities for food safety
The Food Safety Contacts Directory was developed to enhance communication and networking among food safety professionals. All information contained in the directory was submitted voluntarily by the food safety contacts themselves, and the information is updated annually. The information for each individual includes:
- Contact Name
- Title
- Address, including academic department
- Phone and Fax Numbers
- Internet Address
Users of the Food Safety Contacts Directory are encouraged to phone or e-mail those listed in the directory for information-sharing and networking. Those wishing to be added to the directory should contact Joan White.
The NIFSI is a component of the Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program (IREECGP). The purpose of NIFSI is to support competitive grants that address priority issues in food safety that are best solved using an integrated approach. Integrated food safety programs in CSREES support multistate, multi-institutional, multidisciplinary, and multifunctional research, education, and extension activities. Special emphasis is given to grant proposals describing multifunctional activities (for example, research that contains research, education, and/or extension components).
