The Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals is a worldwide initiative to promote standard criteria for classifying chemicals according to their health, physical and environmental hazards.
Through the Consumer Labeling Initiative (CLI) EPA, industry and others worked together in a voluntary cooperative effort to make it easier for consumers to find, read, and understand label information.
