NASA is committed to maintaining the security not only of our personnel, property and information, but our visitors as well. The following policies have been established for your protection.

NASA is a part of the Federal Government and both Lewis Field and Plum Brook Station are federal reservations subject to unique rules and regulations that may supersede those of the State of Ohio and local municipalities.

Identification
All adult visitors are required to present government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license. This includes bus drivers for scheduled groups.

Foreign National Visitors
Access to the Visitor Center is restricted to United States citizens and foreign national students in Grades K-12. (Note: Plum Brook Station does not have a visitor center.)

Inspection Notice
NASA policy for entry into, continued presence on or exiting from this real property, facility, or installation is contingent upon the visitor's consent to inspection of his person, and property in his possession or under his control. Therefore, all vehicles and bags are subject to inspection and visitors may experience a slight delay upon entering the center. Please factor this potential delay into your schedule.

Weapons Ban
Unauthorized carrying, transporting, or otherwise introducing or causing to be introduced, or using firearms or other dangerous weapons, explosives or other incendiary devices, or other dangerous instrument, substance, or material likely to produce substantial injury or damage to persons or property, into or upon this real property, facility, or installation, is prohibited. Inspectors will be obligated to retain and turn over to cognizant law enforcement officials any evidence found in the course of the inspection which appears to represent an immediate threat to safety or security, the possession of which is reasonably believed to constitute a felony or which has been identified to be of interest in a criminal investigation. Under federal law, 18 United States Code Section 930, it is illegal to have a firearm in a building or part of a building owned or leased by the federal government where federal employees are regularly present for performing their duties. Therefore, Ohio Concealed Carry permits can not be honored.

Cameras
Visitors will only be allowed to take pictures at the Visitor Center, the outdoor display area across the street from the Visitor Center, or inside facilities designated as tour stops during scheduled tours led by a NASA escort. During a walking tour, visitors may not use their cameras but may ask a NASA escort to take a picture using the visitor's camera. If uncertain, visitors should check with a member of the NASA staff. Visitors observed taking pictures beyond these areas may have their cameras and/or film (or digital media) confiscated.

Pets
It is the policy of the center that dogs, cats or other animals may not be brought on to NASA Glenn property for other than official purposes. Vehicles transporting animals will be denied access, regardless of the use of cages or other carriers. This policy does not apply to "seeing eye dogs," other guide dogs, and animals used to guide and assist persons with disabilities.

The following items should not be brought on to NASA property and are subject to confiscation. Please note that this list is not all-inclusive. In addition to items specifically listed here other items that may be deemed to present a potential threat may also be prohibited.
