H.J. Res. 106 – Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relating to marriage

1. Closed rule.

2. Provides two hours and 30 minutes of debate in the House equally divided and controlled by the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader or their designees.

3. Provides one motion to recommit.

4. Section 2 of the resolution provides that during consideration of the bill, notwithstanding the operation of the previous question, the Chair may postpone further consideration of the bill to a time designated by the Speaker.

RESOLUTION

Resolved, That upon the adoption of this resolution it shall be in order to consider in the House the joint resolution (H.J.Res. 106) proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relating to marriage. The joint resolution shall be considered as read for amendment. The previous question shall be considered as ordered on the joint resolution to final passage without intervening motion except: (1) two hours and 30 minutes of debate on the joint resolution equally divided and controlled by the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader or their designees; and (2) one motion to recommit.

Sec. 2. During consideration of H.J.Res. 106 pursuant to this resolution, notwithstanding the operation of the previous question, the Chair may postpone further consideration of the joint resolution to a time designated by the Speaker.
