H.Res. 156 - Providing for Consideration of Motions to Suspend the Rules

1. Provides that certain suspensions will be in order at any time on the legislative day of Wednesday, June 6, 2001.

RESOLUTION

Resolved, That it shall be in order at any time on the legislative day of Wednesday, June 6, 2001, for the Speaker to entertain motions that the House suspend the rules relating to the following measures:

(1) The bill (H.R. 1000) to adjust the boundary of the William Howard Taft National Historic Site in the State of Ohio, to authorize an exchange of land in connection with the historic site, and for other purposes.

(2) The bill (H.R. 37) to amend the National Trails System Act to update the feasibility and suitability studies of 4 national historic trails and provide for possible additions to such trails.

(3) The bill (H.R. 640) to adjust the boundaries of Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and for other purposes.

(4) The bill (H.R. 1661) to extend indefinitely the authority of the States of Washington, Oregon, and California to manage a Dungeness crab fishery until the effective date of a fishery management plan for the fishery under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act.

(5) The bill (H.R. 1209) to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to determine whether an alien is a child, for purposes of classification as an immediate relative, based on the age of the alien on the date the classification petition with respect to the alien is filed, and for other purposes.

(6) The bill (H.R. 1914) to extend for 4 additional months the period for which chapter 12 of title 11 of the United States Code is reenacted.

(7) The concurrent resolution (H.Con.Res. 150) expressing the sense of Congress that Erik Weihenmayer's achievement of becoming the first blind person to climb Mount Everest demonstrates the abilities and potential of all blind people and other individuals with disabilities.
