Providing for the Consideration of Motions to Suspend the Rules

1. Provides that suspensions will be in order at any time on the legislative day of Thursday, November 18, 1999.

2. Provides that the object of any motion to suspend the rules shall be announced from the floor at least one hour prior to its consideration.

3. Provides that the Speaker or his designee will consult with the Minority Leader or his designee on any suspension considered under this resolution.

RESOLUTION

Resolved, That it shall be in order at any time on the legislative day of Thursday, November 18, 1999, for the Speaker to entertain motions to suspend the rules, provided that the object of any such motion is announced from the floor at least one hour before the motion is offered. In scheduling the consideration of legislation under this authority, the Speaker or his designee shall consult with the Minority Leader or his designee.
