III. Our environmental law team
Our global environmental law group covers 15 jurisdictions with more than 55 specialists, commercially focused environmental law experts around the world, advising on all aspects of environmental law and liability.
We pride ourselves on our ability to provide integrated, multi-jurisdictional advice, as well as a stand-alone domestic legal service, at the highest level. We meet frequently and communicate daily on client business and share know-how on global, U.S., EU and local environmental matters.
The global team advises multinational companies on European environmental regulation both at EU and at national levels. The group operates through integrated teams of lawyers drawn from each jurisdiction who, as well as advising generally, focus on certain product areas where expertise is concentrated.
Our offices cover all aspects of environmental and planning law, and current areas of particular focus include: - advising on EU regulatory developments regarding REACH, IPP, WEEE and RoHS and assisting clients in drafting and implementing a coherent global product policy; - assisting clients in aligning their sustainable development and global compliance programs with existing and anticipated environment regulations; - managing contaminated sites and handling contaminated land liability issues; - assisting in environmental permitting, where our strength in developing excellent relationships stands us in good stead when working with regulators and the public during investigations; - advising on waste and waste water management and disposal regulations; - structuring M&A, banking, capital markets and real estate transactions; and - conducting environmental litigation involving contaminated land, indemnification claims, insurance coverage and environmental violations before administrative bodies and criminal and civil courts.
