The United States Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, will lead a business development mission to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. The mission is certified by, and will be supported by, the United States Department of Comerce.
Countries of the Middle East are looking beyond today and are investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Many have adopted national strategies that seek to increase the contribution of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower, and are working with major oil and technology companies, universities and ministries to help develop and commercialize these technologies.
