Initial Summary:   Firefighter Palmer was working with a crew of firefighters from Olympic National Park, WA, on the Eagle fire, part of the Iron Complex fire on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in California. Friday, July 25th, was their first day on the fire line and Firefighter Palmer was reported to have been fatally injured when he was struck by a falling tree. The Forest Service and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have assembled an accident investigation board to report on Firefighter Palmer's death.
