Remarks After Arriving at Okura HotelChristopher Hill, Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific AffairsTokyo, Japan October 16, 2006 QUESTION: I’m NHK correspondent Matsuo. Please give us some comment, ok? ASSISTANT SECRETARY HILL: I just got off the flight. It's great to be back here in Tokyo. I'll be seeing my counterpart Ken Sasae, and we’ll be discussing next steps now that we have a Security Council resolution. I think we've been in very close contact and very close cooperation with Japan throughout these difficult months, and especially now with the new Japanese government I think we're cooperating very, very well. We look forward to continuing that. And of course Secretary Rice will be here in a couple of days, so I look forward to these meetings. QUESTION: What do you mean "next step"? ASSISTANT SECRETARY HILL: Well, we have to make sure that this Security Council resolution is implemented in a way that will really put pressure on North Korea to give up its nuclear option. Thank you very much.
