Niles, Ohio –
The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is announcing
the arrest of Dwayne Cox. Investigators located Cox at the apartment of a
friend at on the 400 block of Mauro Circle in Niles, Ohio and he was
arrested with the assistance of the Niles Police Department and the
Trumbull/Ashtabula Law Enforcement Group. Cox was wanted on a total of 17
warrants in 10 separate jurisdictions charging him with Passing Bad Checks.
Cox is alleged to have defrauded local businesses out of thousands of
dollars by writing checks on accounts that were closed or non-existent. The
investigation was complicated by the fact that the checks were passed in
numerous jurisdictions in both Mahoning and Trumbull Counties. Cox is being
held in the Trumbull County Jail pending his many upcoming court
appearances. The breakdown of warrants and jurisdictions is listed below:
