Williamson County Sexual Assault Suspect Nabbed After 12 Years on the Run
 
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoAUSTIN, TX – Keith Thomas Carreker, 53 of Bokoshe, Oklahoma was arrested by the Eastern Oklahoma Fugitive Task Force, without incident this afternoon after it was determined through local investigation conducted by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force that Carreker had fled from Williamson County in 1996 after he was indicted for sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact.

Carreker was indicted in February of 1996 in the 277th Judicial District Court of Williamson County, Texas. It is alleged in the indictment in November of 1995, that Carreker sexually assaulted a child in Georgetown, Texas. Shortly after indictment, Carreker fled from Williamson County and his whereabouts were presumed unknown. Assigned Task Force Officers from the Williamson County Constable, Precinct 2 initiated a joint investigation in an effort to determine the whereabouts of Carreker. Investigation determined that Carreker was using the alias Keith Hobbs and living in the eastern Oklahoma town of Poteau near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border.

Carreker was remanded to the custody of Le Flore County Jail in Poteau, Oklahoma pending extradition to Williamson County.
