The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Announces the Arrest of USMS Major Case Bobby James Carr in San Diego, California

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoSan Antonio – The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) is pleased to announce that 33 year old Bobby James Carr was arrested today by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) sponsored San Diego Fugitive Task Force in San Diego, California after being on the run since 2000.

Back in 2000, Carr was stopped by Texas DPS Troopers with 500 grams of cocaine and $75,000 in cash. Carr was not arrested at that time but was later indicted on the charges. At the time of his traffic stop, he was in possession of a bogus identification that he was eventually indicted under. In September of 2007, Deputy Marshals in Phoenix, Arizona were able to learn the true identity of Carr and discovered that he resided in San Jose, California. Deputy Marshals in San Jose attempted to locate Carr but he had moved. It was learned that Carr was in the Hip-Hop Music Industry and possibly still dealing drugs while living the life of a high roller to include driving high end BMW’s, Cadillac Escalades and Mercedes. Just recently, a Deputy Marshal in San Antonio tracked Carr to an apartment in San Diego. The USMS in San Diego was contacted for assistance and they arrested Carr this morning after making forced entry into his apartment. Carr was living under the alias of Earl Ritchie. Carr denied he was Carr until the Deputies told him they were going to fingerprint him to make sure. Carr then admitted his true identity. Carr will be returned to Texas soon to face his charges in Federal Court.

The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said “Some time has passed since Carr first went on the run. This arrest highlights the fact that we never quit, we never stop, and our reach is unlimited.”
