Richmond, VA
- A man who escaped from Dillwyn Correctional Center in Buckingham
County, Virginia on 11/16/2007 was arrested this morning at
approximately 7:00 A.M. at an abandoned home located in Richmond,
VA. The arrest was the result of an intensive manhunt led by the
U.S. Marshals Service from the Western District of Virginia and the
United States Marshals Blue Ridge Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team
(BRFAST) and was a coordinated effort between the U.S.M.S and many
local agencies, including the Virginia Department of Corrections (D.O.C.),
Virginia State Police, Richmond City Police, Charles City Sheriff’s
Office, Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Henrico County
Police Department.
Alonzo Logan was found unconscious and apparently suffering from
hypothermia in the attic of an abandoned home located in the 5300
block of Salem Street in the Fulton Hill Area of Richmond, Virginia.
He was arrested without incident after the Virginia State Police
Tactical Team made entry and searched the residence.
Logan was serving a 44 year sentence at the time of his escape for
Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Car jacking and other crimes of violence.
He will quite possibly face additional state and federal charges for
Escape, abduction and Felon in Possession of a firearm as a result
of the last two weeks. |
