Quilting Stories
Through October 12
Ohio Historical Center

People tell stories to share, to bond, to heal, and to inspire. Storytelling takes many forms, and our lives are richer for the variety.

Here we share stories that have been told in quilts. Created over some 170 years, they differ in technique and design, but common to all is a talent for creative expression with needle and thread.

In some, the point of the story is clear-honoring heroes, mustering support for an important cause. In others, the story is more personal but no less compelling-celebrating a wedding or recording the life of a community.

Continuing a tradition that began in America hundreds of years ago, quilters today use the latest fabrics and technologies and share ideas far and wide … all with the same goal in mind: quilting stories.
