The Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis
The Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis (NESA)
provides analytic insights on critical issues in the Near East and South Asia
region that frame opportunities and identify risks for US policymakers. Given
the rapidly changing developments in these regions, NESA analysts often have the
opportunity to be part of history in the making:
- Given the high interest around the globe in NESA’s areas of concern,
analysts have the chance to travel throughout the world and work with renowned
experts on Middle Eastern issues.
- NESA’s diverse workforce includes many analysts with advanced degrees in
foreign area studies and with fluent language skills. Some NESA analysts enter
the DI with undergraduate degrees and take advantage of specialized career
development that includes country and issue familiarization and language
training.
