Moore joins Ryun in introducing resolution honoring Gordon Parks

KS native challenged society, enriched the lives of all Americans

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) –Congressman Dennis Moore (Third District-KS) today announced the introduction of a bipartisan resolution to honor the life and work of Kansas native Gordon Parks. Rep. Jim Ryun (Second District-KS) introduced the resolution, which is cosponsored by the entire House delegation.

“Gordon Parks made significant contributions in so many different areas, challenging us to take a closer look at the effects of poverty, racism, and prejudice,” Moore said. “I’m grateful for his dedication to improving our society and join the nation in honoring this remarkable Kansan.”

The resolution honors Gordon Parks for his groundbreaking achievements and contributions to society as a photographer, writer, director and musician, and expresses the nation’s deepest condolences to his family and friends.
