Dear Secretary Bodman:

Since April of this year, the Committee on Science and Technology has been attempting to determine the basis for your decision to terminate the Department’s participation in the FutureGen project as previously agreed to through a cooperative agreement with the FutureGen Industrial Alliance.  The agreement was initially signed on January 31, 2007, and amended on March 23 and May 15, 2008.  The public announcement of the change in FutureGen was made on Jan. 30, 2008.
