New Carson National Forest Supervisor Selected
ALBUQUERQUE (June 10, 2008)—Regional Forester Corbin Newman announced today that Kendall Clark has been named forest supervisor for the Carson National Forest. Clark, a Forest Service employee since 1988, will report the first week of August. “I am pleased to announce that Kendall will be returning to the Southwest and will waste no time to connect with employees and the surrounding communities,” stated Regional Forester Newman.
Clark is not new to Taos. She was deputy forest supervisor for the Carson in 2004, and left the area in 2006 to become deputy forest supervisor for the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado.
She started her Forest Service career on the Selway Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest in Idaho as a recreation forester. In 1991, she worked as a recreation planner on the Gila National Forest in southern New Mexico and served as a district ranger on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and the area ranger at Hell’s Canyon National Recreation Area.
Clark stated, "I am honored to have been selected as Forest Supervisor of the Carson National Forest. I am so pleased to be returning to northern New Mexico and I look forward to working with communities, partners and employees of the Carson."
Clark is married and has two sons and four grandchildren. She enjoys birding, reading, beadwork, and collecting historical documents.
