Kids Fishing Day A Success because of Generous Support of Volunteers and Sponspors

AMBOY, WA – On Saturday, June 7th the Mount St. Helens National Monument and Gifford Pinchot National Forest hosted a very successful Kids' Fishing Day Clinic at Merwin Reservoir. More than 200 kids participated, 400 people total. The event was part of our 20th annual observance of National Fishing Week. Activities include environmental education activities, fish t-shirt prints, face painting, casting contest, recreational fishing opportunities and prizes.

“The event was made possible through the efforts of an army of volunteers and generous donations from local businesses and community organizations,” said Tom Mulder, Monument Manager. “It’s great to see kids and their families outdoors enjoying the natural environment. We’re grateful for the generous support of the community and our sponsors,” Mulder added.
