EPA’s research into implementing the new Arsenic Rule is an integrated, multidisciplinary program. It focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative methods and cost-effective technologies for improving the assessment and control of arsenic contamination.

EPA’s Arsenic Removal Technology Demonstration Program conducts arsenic removal demonstrations at selected public water facilities across the United States. The program was divided into two rounds of demonstrations: 12 locations were funded for Round 1, and 27 locations were funded for Round 2. Now, Round 2a is underway at 10 locations.
