Support to Mission

Organization

Generally speaking, the Support to Mission team is organized along functional lines.

Security

Security is an integral part of working at CIA. Security officers are responsible for the protection of our organization's people, mission, facilities and information. Security officers are involved in a wide range of activities, from the vetting of personnel for positions of trust with the Agency and access to sensitive information, to providing protection for our facilities and information systems. Whether physically protecting our facilities or monitoring our network to protect against threats to our online capabilities, we are here to support the Agency's mission.

Corporate Businesses

Acquisitions and finance activities take place within the Corporate Business office. Acquisitions officers execute formal contracting arrangements with our industrial partners and provide guidance to Agency officers to ensure compliance with the various legal and regulatory guidelines. Finance officers develop, implement and maintain financial operations and reporting, and serve as the focal point for a range of Agency financial policies and practices. They assist in preparing budgets for the various levels within the Agency, often sitting with their customers to better understand and facilitate local financial issues.

Medical Services

This office is dedicated to providing health, safety and related services to Agency officers wherever they work across the globe. Medical professionals in this office are devoted to ensuring that Agency officers are healthy and prepared, both physically and mentally, for the unique challenges faced by Agency employees.

Personnel Resources

Human resources officers on the Support to Mission team work closely with their colleagues to ensure that employees are advised of and take advantage of the complete range of employee benefits available to them.

Global Services and Infrastructure

Logistics and facilities officers work closely with our information technology professionals to construct, operate, equip and maintain our facilities. They work to create a modern, connected and comfortable work environment for the Agency’s workforce.

Administration and Management

The Support to mission teams also includes elements that provide leadership and internal administrative services, (budget, planning, etc.). The Hank Mahoney Support College, which provides specialized training to our support officers, is also included in this segment.
