How many names are on the wall?
Currently there are 58,249. This number can change every Memorial day if the Department of Veterans Affairs receives additional information.
What happens to items left at the wall?
If the items are able to be archived (no food or flowers) they are collected each day by the Rangers, tagged and then are taken to the Archive collection for the memorial.
Is the item archive open to the public?
No it is not. There is a rotating selection of items from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on display at the American History Museum.
