Obama Statement on the Death of Dr. C. DeLores Tucker

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today issued the following statement on the passing of Dr. C. DeLores Tucker:

"Dr. Tucker dedicated her life to fighting for civil rights, and she did it with grace, style and class," said Obama. "She broke the mold by becoming the first African American to serve as secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and inspired women across the country through her outspoken leadership. She never stopped fighting for justice and equality for all, and those of us who believe in her cause won't soon forget her struggles and her triumphs. Today, my thoughts and prayers are with her family."
