Information Systems Security Officer

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $44,572 – $107,854
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area


Computer scientist professionals: Do you have experience as an Information Systems Security professional in industry or government? If so, we may be looking for you. We are seeking individuals to provide INFOSEC technical and policy interpretation to customers within our organization. As a member of our team, you will provide guidance regarding INFOSEC issues in support of DCID 6/3 certifications and accreditation activities. We are looking for individuals having demonstrated experience with NSA published operating systems and network security standards, familiarity with secure system architectures, and system security scanning and testing.


Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors in computer science, mathematics, computer engineering or other technical field, or the equivalent verifiable work experience. Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible information security experience in one or more of the following information security areas: DCID 6/3 certification and accreditation, INFOSEC system evaluations, system security penetration testing, and INFOSEC security operations/network monitoring. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferred.

Excellent oral and written communications skills; Strong commitment to continuous learning; the ability to work in a team environment and the ability to listen well and work with others.

Candidates are encouraged and expected to explore and gain experience in multiple business areas across information technology security to build a broad skill set.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
