Iran Nonproliferation Act Sanctions

Question: When will the notice of sanctions for Armenia, Moldova, and China be published?

Answer: The sanctions determination will be published in the Federal Register in a few days.

Question: What is the standard of evidence for reporting violations to Congress?

Answer: The Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, signed into law March 14, 2000, requires periodic reports to Congress concerning "every foreign person with respect to whom there is credible information indicating that" that person transferred to Iran on or after January 1, 1999 "goods, services or technology" that is either: (1) listed on specified international export control lists, or (2) controlled by the U.S. government for export to Iran because of their potential to make a material contribution to the development of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons, or ballistic or cruise missiles.
