WASHINGTON, DC – US Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) earned a 100 percent rating from the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) for her ongoing commitment to civil rights, health care and economic issues impacting the Hispanic community.

The NHLA compiled the legislative scorecard for the first and second sessions of the 108th Congress to inform Hispanics about Members of Congress’s record on issues of importance to Hispanic communities.   Only one of the other members of Colorado’s Congressional delegation received a perfect score.

"I have the privilege of representing the most diverse congressional district in the Rocky Mountain West,” said Rep. DeGette. “I am very proud to have earned a perfect score from NHLA and am committed to fighting for Hispanics in Colorado, and across the nation. This includes expanding access to affordable quality health care and decent educational opportunities and combating the rising xenophobia that threatens to pit Americans against each other.”

The NHLA scorecard is based on votes on a wide range of issues, including education, health care, economic mobility, workforce and civil rights that have a direct impact on Hispanics and their families.

Founded in 1991, the NHLA is a non-partisan coalition of national public policy and civil rights organizations and leaders from across the United States, whose mission is to provide the Hispanic community with greater visibility and a clearer stronger voice in our nation’s affairs.
