Statement: Appointment of Joan Dempsey to PFIAB

Statement by George J. Tenet, Director of Central Intelligence on the Appointment of Joan Dempsey as Executive Director of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board

July 2, 2003

The Intelligence Community and the country have benefited greatly by having Joan Dempsey serve for over five years as Deputy Director of Central Intelligence for Community Management. I have been personally blessed to have her wisdom, vision and vigor in that important role. She has excelled at creating practical solutions to keeping the disparate intelligence Agencies working together as one Community.

There is no one better qualified to assist General Scowcroft and the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB) in their critical intelligence oversight duties.
