Transportation and Infrastructure
The 29th District of New York has a strong transportation infrastructure that is critical to the economic development of the entire state. Because of this, I’ve made transportation one of my top priorities as your Congressman.
As a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I have worked hard to ensure that the 29th District receives its fair share of federal assistance to address our growing infrastructure needs. My position on the committee provides me with a unique opportunity to advocate for improvements to Interstates 86, 90, and 390, Routes 15, 20, and 219, and the system of arterials in Monroe County, including I-490, Paul Road, and Erie Station Road. I will also advocate for transit facilities in locations such as Corning and downtown Rochester, and our airports in Rochester, Elmira-Corning, and the smaller airfields across the district including the Painted Post and Wellsville airports.
During the 109th Congress, the House passed and the President signed a transportation bill that appropriated over $50 million dollars for regional projects in the 29th District.
If you are aware of a specific area of our transportation infrastructure that requires attention, please do not hesitate to contact me at (202) 225-3161.
