Network Architects work in a collaborative environment, providing critical
support to the overall Agency mission and building the foundation against the
war on terror. CIA is seeking innovative, energetic, forward-thinking candidates for this position. The Network Architect provides technical
leadership to the design and development of Corporate Enterprise Network
Solutions. You must be capable of
identifying and solving complex technical problems and communicating technical
concepts and issues to audiences at all levels within the organization.
The primary responsibilities for this position are to
design architectures for networks and provide technical leadership to the engineering
organization. CIA views this position as
an important opportunity to meet its future mission needs while broadening the
organization Engineering Cadre.
In order to meet the primary
responsibilities of this position, the Network Architect will work on a daily
basis to provide technical guidance to engineers on engineering new projects,
on redesign efforts, and on developing the future architecture for CIA.
The primary duties for this position also
include but are not limited to the following
tasks:
Minimum qualifications include:
-
MPLS, ATM, SONET
-
OSPF, BGP, and other policy routing
-
Class-based weighted fair queuing, QOS
-
Policing, Traffic Shaping and packet marking
-
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
-
Firm
understanding of network management designs, including fault, configuration
and performance management; and SNMP V1 through 3.
Desired qualifications include:
-
Considerable knowledge of Project Management concepts
and principles
-
Knowledge/experience with Information Security
-
Juniper
Network Certifications
-
CISCO
Systems Certifications
-
Experience
with TDM multiplexing and network timing
All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
