Information Management Technical Officer

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $50,000 – $123,622
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area


CIA is seeking highly motivated individualsdevelopmental through expertwho want to be part of the Information Management program; supporting the needs of the world's premier intelligence organization. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing records and knowledge management solutions, including taxonomies, metadata management, electronic recordkeeping, and direct information support to customers. Other responsibilities include electronic records management, archives and preservation, records retention, access controls, and related functions.

The incumbent will be assigned to a team responsible for a wide variety of tasks and disciplines including: requirements development and analysis; information systems development; electronic records management; file plan development and implementation; automated categorization tools; leveraging legacy data; inventorying; implementing appropriate access controls; archives and preservation; records management; and related marketing, training, and awareness.


Minimum requirements include a degree in Library Science (MLS/MIS), computer science, management information systems, or business. Candidates with liberal arts degrees (political science, history, etc.) may also apply. Candidates should also possess:

    • Good interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management, information security personnel, information systems personnel, and customers
    • Good customer service skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Good analytical skills
    • Good presentation skills
    • Good teamwork skills


A good understanding of Information Management (laws, regulations, practices, etc.) and information systems is highly desired.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
