A Messaging Services Specialist (MSS) ensures all Agency message traffic is delivered to intended, authorized recipients in a timely manner as defined by service level agreements with our customer base. The MSS cadre provides shift coverage for the management and support of organizational messaging over a 24 hour period 7 days a week, 365 days per year. The MSS will perform a variety of duties to ensure proper dissemination of incoming and outgoing organizational messages. These duties are designed for an MSS to effectively and efficiently facilitate the management and support of the messaging infrastructure and processing services. This also ensures MSS’s will work and collaborate closely with Operators, Systems Administrators, tier two, and three Support organizations to address/resolve technical and operational issues. These issues will arise as a normal course of business relating to internal and external message processing. As a member of the Operations staff you will work closely with other professionals to resolve and coordinate message dissemination issues/actions across the Agency, Intelligence Community (IC), and external customers, including other governmental agencies (OGA).

Additional areas of responsibilities include the management of message incidents (e.g., formatting errors, misclassifications, and address corrections) and assisting customers with issues and queries. MSS’s will work with Agency components and Directorate representatives to develop and convert Agency-wide message dissemination requirements into messaging dissemination profiles.

Handling this variety of responsibilities requires excellent communication, analytical, organizational and people skills. An ability to utilize and synthesize these skills to work closely with a diverse group of professionals in a collaborative team environment is also required.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Network Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline. A GPA of 3.0 or greater on 4.0 scale is also required. Candidates should have 2 - 4 years of experience in information systems, computing technology, messaging systems, or related technology.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
