$21.7 Million For Kansas Water Projects Approved

The City of Burlington received a $5,800,000 direct loan and $1,279,700 grant from the Agency's Water and Environmental Program to repair the city's sewer collection system. Thirteen Kansas communities received funds from the recently approved Farm Bill and regular USDA Rural Development's program allocation. This brings the total USDA support of such projects to nearly $38 million for Kansas this year.

Banks presents Greensburg Mayor Janssen and other City officials
with a ceremonial check for $2 million in Agency funding approved
for construction of a business incubator building during groundbreaking
ceremonies. Frito-Lay also announced its donation of $1.1 million
for the project during the ceremony. The project is a cornerstone
to Greenburg's business rebuilding efforts.

Economic Development Loan Program funds will be used
to rebuild the John Deere dealership that was destroyed by
the
May 4, 2007 tornado. Neinnescah Electric Cooperative Asso., Inc.
was the recipient with the pass through to Bucklin Tractor & Implement
Co., Inc.

Electric Cooperative Inc. received Rural
Economic Development Loan Program funds which will be used
to construct a new 38 unit J-Hawk Motel in Greensburg by Ronald
and Eileen Wright.
