My office can arrange Congressional tours for you. Tours are currently available for the White House, the Capitol, Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the National Cathedral and the Supreme Court. All of the Smithsonian museums are open. All of the national monuments and memorials on and near the Mall are open, including the Washington Monument which has recently reopened following renovations.
Due to post-9/11 security concerns, tours of the White House are extremely limited. Requests should be made at least six months in advance and there are no guarantees tours will be available. My office is not notified of availability until at least one month before the date requested. Also, all tours are subject to sudden cancellation.
My office is able to schedule Capitol tours on a limited basis. Public tours are also available Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Capitol is open on all Federal holidays except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
School groups and other groups over 30 people should contact my office at least 6 months in advance to schedule a public tour.
Visitors are not permitted to bring the following items into the Capitol: aerosol and non-aerosol sprays; cans and bottles; oversized suitcases, duffle bags and oversize backpacks; knives (of any length), razors and box cutters; mace and pepper spray.
If you would like more information, or would like to make reservations for Congressional tours, please contact one of my offices or fill out the tour request form and fax it to (202) 225-0285.
