Inouye Announces Additions to Commerce Committee Staff
|
|
WASHINGTON, DC – Commerce Committee Chairman Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) announces the following additions to his Committee staff:
Jana Fong-Swamidoss joins the Committee staff as Democratic Counsel, working on consumer affairs and interstate commerce issues. Prior to joining the Committee, Ms. Fong-Swamidoss served as a Legislative Assistant in Senator Inouye’s personal office, where her responsibilities included issues related to trade, tourism and foreign affairs. Ms. Fong-Swamidoss holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Richard Swayze joins the Committee as a Professional Staff Member, handling matters before the Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security Subcommittee. Mr. Swayze was previously detailed to the Commerce Committee from the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where he was a Senior Analyst working on aviation issues. Mr. Swayze holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Binghamton University and a B.A. in Political Science from Cortland College in Cortland, N.Y.
Kristen Sarri is the Committee’s newest Professional Staff Member, focusing on issues related to the Subcommittee on Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard. Ms. Sarri was previously Senior Policy Advisor for appropriations, energy, and environmental issues with Senator Reed’s (D-R.I.) office. Ms. Sarri holds Master’s Degrees in Science and in Public Health from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. from Washington University.
Anna Crane joins the Committee as a Staff Assistant. Prior to coming to the Commerce Committee, Ms. Crane was a press intern with Senator Bill Nelson’s (D-Fla.) office. Ms. Crane holds a B.S. in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
