It's all over the news today, CDC Opens Model Employee Fitness Center.
Not so much in the news is information noted in a July 2006 Your Tax Dollars At Work Post (click to read): When It Comes To New “Lifestyle Center” – CDC Practices What It Preaches: CDC spends millions to offer lavish opportunities to employees (zero gravity chairs, light shows, saunas).
Then, a sneak peek at the Center for Disease Control’s insider intranet news service, “CDC Connects,” revealed inside information that just might interest the average taxpayer who might not expect his hard-earned tax dollars to fund saunas, zero gravity chairs, music-coordinated light shows, tai chi or Pilates classes for free (all you have to do is have your blood pressure measured) to employees on the job at a large federal government agency. Especially since the average taxpayer would expect to pay for these types of activities out-of-pocket!
