Earmarks
Cutting wasteful spending in Washington and spending taxpayer dollars more wisely is good for the economy and good for the taxpayer and I am pleased the President is making these important goals a focus during his final year.
I support the President’s directive for greater transparency and accountability.
Any earmark should always meet a compelling state or local need—with broad community support. Taxpayers should not be forced to pick up the tab for wasteful earmarks that don’t pass the laugh test – whether added by a legislator or a Washington bureaucrat.
